Description

The 1756-M14 module is a volatile ControlLogix5555 memory expansion module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It belongs to the A-Series of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix memory modules and it has a 3.5-Megabyte capacity. It is a spare part for Allen-Bradley ControlLogix5555 controllers which support redundancy systems and which can be used alongside a nonvolatile memory for controllers that support the use of 2 EEPROM units on the same module. Its simple design removes the need for special equipment when installing the module and its slot is easily accessible on the side of the controller.

The 1756-M14 ControlLogix5555 memory expansion module is designed for use in environments where it would not have direct contact with corrosive material which could interfere with its performance. Its recommended operating temperature range is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. When it is not in use, this module should be stored within a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. To prevent electrical arcs that can potentially damage the 1756-M14 memory board, all power, including the battery module power must be disconnected before installing or removing the memory module.

Install the Memory Board：

A. Place the memory board over the connector and slide the memory board into the controller.

B. Pull the plastic back edge of the controller out slightly to clear the tabs of the memory board.

C. Line up the connectors.

D. Place your hands on the boards over the connectors and gently squeeze them together.

E. Make sure that the tabs on the memory board extend through the slots on the plastic housing of the controller.
